20. If you had the ability to talk to one species of animal, which animal would you choose to communicate with? Why?
If I was presented with the opportunity of being able to speak to one species of animal, I would choose without a doubt the Panthera tigris altaica, best known as the Siberian Tiger or the Amur Tiger.
My fascination with this particular species of animal was brought too me at an early age by my father when he bought me an animal encyclopedia. In this animal encyclopedia I saw an image of a tiger with white fur, something I had never seen before, and because of this particular image I decided to investigate more about tigers and their subspecies. Tigers are fascinating because they have a mysterious "aura" and can be both affectionate and deadly. As cubs, the behaviour of the tiger assimilates a cat. They are playful and curious of their world but that does not mean they are not dangerous. As they grow, the cub's hunting instinct becomes more pronouced; they will need this in order to be able to hunt down preys such as zebras, boars, yaks, etc.
However, tigers are an endangered species because they have been hunted for their fur or were killed "just because" in Russia until 1947, when hunting Siberian Tigers became illegal. Because of the excessive practice on the hunt of Siberian Tiger, the tiger population decreased until it consisted of approximately only 250 tigers. As a soon to be vegan, this really concerned me, and made me become even more fascinated with this animal.
To be able to communicate with the Siberian Tigers would be useful to the community as well.
This way, animals and people could coexist in an efficient way because we both want to live on Earth. However, we humans do not understand this, or we see ourselves as a superior race. I do not think this, and find fascination not only on our architecture, or our technology, but on Earth and its living souls. Being able to at least communicate with one species of animal would not only bring a self-desire true but I would change society itself and I dare say, reshape the future in an assertive way.
