Blinded Eyes Do Not See The Truth

"The things that make me very angry are injustice and bullying. If I see someone bullying a woman or child in the street, or kicking a dog, I go completely mad."
-Susannah York

People believe bullying only happens in movies; I believed this too.
Until this happened to a  dear friend of mine, I did not believe bullying at school was something real. But my friend changed me and opened my blinded eyes; eyes that I had decided to blind by myself and go around walking with them, unaware of my surroundings and the problems society faced. I can still remember this event clearly...
It was recess and I was sitting on my desk daydreaming while listening to music. I was waiting for my friend to come with the things I asked to buy me because I had injured my feet and couldn't walk well. When my friend returned, she had the strangest expression I had ever seen in her lovely face. It was as she was frightened but at the same time it looked as if she just had a heart attack. Before I could reach her side, she collapsed in front of me and stayed on her knees, staring at the wall like a ghost. When I asked what had happened to her, she stared crying and when she finally came to her senses, she told me what had happened...
She went to get some food for me and for her to the little school store but then she saw her boyfriend with a group of persons and decided to go and greet him, for she had not seen him when we entered school. He saw her approach him, but before she reached him and the group he was with, one of the guys her boyfriend was with got in front of her and pushed her. He then called her awful names and stared laughing with the other guys. One of the girls that was in the group too, graved my friend's arm and took of her bracelet. My friend opposes  the use of violence so she asked for her bracelet in polite way; she thought they were only playing or something similar. I do not wish to write the rest of this story for respect to my friend and to this traumatic event that happened to her nevertheless I wish to say that the authorities did nothing to help her for they did not believed in her story. That is why I want to overcome this problem not only in my school, but in schools around the world. Because this is a problem that affects us students. That bruises the community we live in. It is an event hat scars people; real people.
Bullying has to stop!
